| DEATH CORPS HISTORY |
Death Corps was founded in October 2003 by Mike (McBooty) and a few of his friends in a small town in North Texas. This new clan was founded as an extremely casual LAN team that played Counter Strike 1.05 on the local High School computers. Death Corps quickly grew as it was the first major gaming team in the area. DC maintained a member count of approximately 15-20 members during the 2003-2004 school year. During the summer of 2004, McBooty took his clan to the internet world in SOCOM 2 for the PS2. This is where Death Corps got its momentum to grow into more than it had previously been in the past. Although DC was founded in 2003, several of the first DC members for SOCOM became known as the DC Founding Fathers. These members included McBooty, SocomChamp, Silent Soulja, Oxycotton, and Wardawg201. DC ran strong in SOCOM for over a year. While McBooty lead DC in online gaming with SOCOM, he still attended school and continued his LAN CS team. DC became so big in the LAN part, that McBooty started dividing up the members into special teams. Alpha, Beta, and Delta. Alpha and Beta were led by senior members of the DC LAN team. These teams were mediocre at best. McBooty led the Delta team which focused on teamwork where the other teams simply did their own thing. A player named, McFro helped McBooty manage the teams, and played a part in the Delta team. Death Corps survived another interesting year as a LAN CS team, but when summer arrived again McBooty focused all of his time into SOCOM again. When SOCOM 3 was released in October of 2005, McBooty and SocomChamp continued where they left off. DC became increasingly inactive in SOCOM 2 and we lost many members from inactivity. Childhood friends of McBooty, jacobbunday and Reggie, encouraged McBooty to get DC more organized, and this is when DC made a website at www.freewebs.com/mcbooty312 and soon after, made forums at www.clan-deathcorps.mypunbb.com In late 2005 when all of the SOCOM 3 activity was happening, McBooty also started playing CS:CZ casually wearing his DC tag simply so he wouldn't be asked to join any clans. Many CS:CZ players began asking McBooty if they join DC, but McBooty declined saying that he did not have money for scrimmage servers or anything. After 2-3 weeks of nagging, McBooty finally decided to start up in CZ as a casual pub clan. DC spent most of its time in MOC (myowncrew) servers. Gagger was the first CZ member, closely followed by Decomp, Woozie, and Daniel the Sexy Wombat. Meanwhile, the DC SOCOM division went inactive and McBooty started a GuildWars Division hoping to attract a few more members and get two simultaneous active divisions going at once. This was never successfully done. GW never got above 10 active members. This is also the period in time that McBooty recruited the services of a trusted friend that would help him run the clan for the next 2 year. Assassin, or as he later called himself, Technobyte or Tek, would be the coordinator until his inactivity in late 2007. Back to late 2005 and early 2006. Death Corps was very active in Condition Zero, although DC has had MANY rebellions and they began very early. The first was disguised as a helping hand. Dave came into DC through Gagger to get DC a server. Dave assumed control of Death Corps and its members within a week. He also (he was dumb and didnt know the name) called his clan Death Corp (as in, corporation). The next rebellion/clan split was by a player named Smokinbull. This was another person that provided DC with a server. After the Death Corps Board of Directors decided on a captain, the loser, Morik, quit DC. Smokinbull and Morik then started XR clan using the same server Death Corps had used the day before. Many DC members left, thinking DC had actually disbanded. Within a week, DC's most loyal were back in Death Corps, but the split had taken its toll. Over 60% of DC had gone to XR. The next rebellion/clan split was a massive offensive action from MOC, the people that we PUBed with. MOC successfully recruited about 50% of our members into their ranks. Death Corps has yet to recover from these similar, and chronologically near events. After standing standing weak for several months, Death Corps has picked back up once again. We now have approximately 25 members and most are currently active. Our website has come a long way and continues to look more and more professional with the help of Forbisc our webmaster. We also now have 2 public servers and 1 scrim server which we are continually trying to back better. Death Corps finally has a somewhat stable CS division lead by Deadbeat, but Death Corps must continue to recruit members who are loyal and willing to stick it out with this clan. Death Corps has also recently added another BoD member which has not been done in quit some time. The newest member is Whit3y and we hope he performs well as BoD member. Death Corps is slowly getting back up on its feet, but this clan will not continue to grow and become successful without the hard work of loyal members. We will not be able to sustain our servers without donations and the hard work of the BoD members. If you are cool, loyal, and willing to just have fun, Death Corps is the place for you. Please, join our gaming community today and lets all have some fun pwning! |
